No man’s daughter

I was once
in love with a man
Who broke my heart
Stamped on the pieces
And turned them to dirt
So I waited
Until I learned to function
Without a heart.
Then I wrenched his daughters’ out
tied them to his shoelaces
And asked him to walk
As it turned out
He couldnt take a step forward
I was no man’s daughter
Hence so easy to break my heart

Shards of love

Every once in a while
Her frozen heart aches
Shooting spikes of pain
Down her veins,
The ice has caved in
the road down her cheeks
And tears have lost their way,
They stagnate in her eyes
like glittering crystals of rain
Forming a barbed fence,
Shards of love
that glint when its dark
the seven colours of pain
